About
The Founder
The Melt Me Ball was founded and created by Canadian physiotherapist Jennifer Luckanuck, PT, a Registered Physiotherapist with expertise in Myofascial Release Therapy. With more than 30 years of experience, Jennifer has devoted her career to helping clients release chronic pain, recover from injuries, and regain the freedom to move with confidence.
Her advanced training includes certifications in John F. Barnes’ Myofascial Release Approach ®, MFR 1, MFR 2, Pelvis, Cervical Thoracic, Mobilization, Unwinding, Rebounding, and Cranial Sacral. This expertise has allowed her to specialize in identifying and treating the fascial restrictions that often lie beneath pain, stiffness, and imbalance.
Why She Created It
Throughout her practice, Jennifer observed a common need: while clients experienced profound relief from hands-on therapy, many wanted a safe and effective way to sustain those results at home. Inspired to provide that support, she developed the Melt Me Ball—a gentle, physio-designed tool that helps release fascial tightness, ease tension, and maintain mobility between physiotherapy sessions.
Philosophy
The Melt Me Ball embodies Jennifer’s belief that true healing isn’t about quick fixes, but about giving the body the tools it needs to unwind, realign, and restore balance. Her mission is to empower people everywhere to take charge of their health—starting with this simple, effective tool for lasting relief.
Jennifer Luckanuck is extensively trained in the John F. Barnes Myofascial Release (MFR) Approach®—a safe, highly effective hands-on therapy that uses gentle, sustained pressure on the body’s connective tissue (fascia) to release restrictions, relieve pain, and restore movement. This specialized method often addresses issues that don’t appear on standard medical scans, making it a powerful tool for lasting relief and improved mobility.

What is Myofascial Release?
Myofascial Release (MFR) is a safe, highly effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle, sustained pressure into the connective tissue (fascia) to relieve pain and restore movement. Trauma, inflammation, or surgery can create restrictions in the fascia that exert immense pressure—sometimes up to 2,000 pounds per square inch—on sensitive structures in the body. Because these restrictions don’t appear on standard medical scans, they often go undiagnosed.
The John F. Barnes MFR Approach® works by applying a low load of gentle pressure over time, allowing the fascia to elongate and release. Each session is performed directly on the skin without oils or creams, enabling the therapist to accurately detect restrictions. Treatments are one-on-one, individualized, and often include education in self-treatment, posture, and movement to help clients maintain results.
